Daisy Beanie

One of Luke’s cousin’s children is a Daisy Girl Scout. Back in April 2016 cousin E was handed a booklet which contained the instruction for the way each one of J’s petals was to be sewn onto her sash/vest as she received them. She sent me a picture and asked if it was possible to make it as a hat. Challenge accepted!!

I used CTbL’s Toddler & Child Basic Beanie Pattern in size Child. I used RHSS in Royal with a 4.25mm hook. I had a look through my stash and sent pictures of colors that I thought matched the picture she sent me. After a little back and forth (because pictures are never color perfect I find) we finally agreed on each petal color. I ended up using RHSS in Royal, Petal Pink, Hunter Green, Shocking Pink, Dark Orchid, White, Cherry Red, Frosty Green, Bright Yellow, Light Blue, and Pumpkin, and Vanna’s Choice in Pink Poodle.

I made each petal as an oval before sewing each one on. I think it turned out fabulous!! One of the cutest hats I think I’ve ever made.

On The Hook:
